Notes on installing and using Zoom ...

First Time Setup

If you have an iPhone or other Apple device

Open the ‘App Store’ app

Tap the ‘Search’ icon on the bottom right

Type ‘ZOOM’ Cloud Meetings’ into the search bar and search

Find the app called ‘ZOOM’ Cloud Meetings’

Tap ‘GET’ (the app is free)

Enter your Apple ID password. There will be no charge.

If you have an Android device

Open the ‘Play Store’ app

Tap ‘Search for apps & games’ at the top of the screen

Type ‘ZOOM Cloud Meetings’ into the search bar and search

Find the app called ‘ZOOM Cloud Meetings’

Tap the green ‘Install” button (the app is free)

If you are prompted to, enter your Google account password. There will be no charge.

Once you have downloaded the app:

Steps for Everyone - Creating Your Account 

Open the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app

Tap ‘Sign Up’ in the bottom left corner

Enter your email address in the ‘Email’ field

Enter your first name in the ‘First Name’ field and your last name in the ‘Last Name’ field

Tap the circle next to ‘I agree to the Terms of Service

Tap ‘Next’ or ‘Sign Up’ in the top right corner

Close the app and open your device’s email app. Open the email from Zoom

Tap the blue ‘Activate Account’ button

Go back into the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app

Enter your password into both the ‘Password’ field and the ‘Confirm Password’ field

Tap the orange ‘Continue’ button

Tap the white ‘Skip this step’ button

Your account is now ready and you do not need to perform these steps again.

Steps to be followed each time

Open the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app

If it appears, tap the ‘Sign In’ button in the bottom right of the screen. Sign in using your email address and password. If it does not say ‘Sign In’ in the bottom right, you are already signed in!

Tap the blue ‘Join’ button near the top of the screen

Enter the following, without spaces, into the ‘Meeting ID’ field: 858 464 9612

Press the blue ‘Join Meeting’ button

Press the blue ‘Join without Video’ button. You’ll be able to see us but we won’t be able to see you for now while we iron out any problems.

If it appears in the bottom left of the screen, tap ‘Call with Device Audio’. Accept any permissions you are asked to give. 

You are now in the video call!
